Why are you doing this?
When we choose to surround ourselves with things in everyday life, it is important to choose what has a long life. It is one of the most crucial things in reducing our footprint on the environment. Sustainability is also the most important thing for us when we design and manufacture our products. They should be useful and meaningful for generations and also become more beautiful every day they are used.
To achieve this, we design timeless objects that transcend trends. Our products are all handmade, where each series and each individual item has an individual character. They are made of materials that develop their unique appearance through use over time. We believe that it is easier to tie emotional ties to our things precisely because they have a soul and an individual expression. And placing a high value on everyday objects means that they are used longer and contributes to less wear and tear.
In this way, our products become sustainable on several levels, partly by being useful and meaningful for generations, but also by their natural signs of aging being something that only makes them more beautiful and can be celebrated instead of being seen as defects. Its emotional value only increases with the years through its interaction with those who use them in their everyday life. Our products thus contribute to saving resources over time and prevent materials from becoming waste, which is a consequence of the wear and tear society.
All our products are made from locally recycled materials. This is to further reduce their environmental impact. This means that you can be sure that the materials used have not traveled back and forth between different intermediaries, in different parts of the world, before they are reused. The whole circle closes here on Gotland.
Our products are often inspired by classic forms from a time before industrialization and can be advantageously used in building maintenance. They are manufactured using proven methods according to old craft traditions. They are designed to be able to interact with older handcrafted furniture and thrive in environments made of solid and sound materials.
How does the production take place?
Our handles are cast by hand and are crafted locally on Gotland according to old proven methods. The metals we use are locally recycled. All handles are minimally machined after casting to retain their rustic character. As each casting is slightly different, it is good to order all the handles at one time so that we can produce a series where all objects harmonize with each other.
What is meant by locally recycled materials?
All our products are made from locally recycled metal. This means that you can be sure that the materials used have not traveled back and forth between different intermediaries in different parts of the world before being reused. The whole circle closes here on Gotland.
What does it mean that the handles are untreated?
Our handles are untreated and are not meant to look like the picture you saw when you bought them. Many of the fittings you find in the trade are all surface-treated with toxic substances in order not to change over time. Our handles are not surface treated and will age naturally and take on their unique appearance over time. We celebrate this aging as something beautiful rather than a defect. Our products will always be characterized by both the place and the people who use them.
In concrete terms, this almost always means that the surface layer darkens over time. Depending on where and how they are used, they can also get green-blue patinas.
When can I expect to receive the handles and how do you ship them?

You can easily return your goods and get your money back within 30 days, provided they are in the same condition as when you received them. Contact us at hi@bangahantverk.com
If you want to return your goods, you are currently responsible for the shipping costs yourself.
If something is wrong or damaged, contact us within 7 days of receiving the package, and you will receive a replacement product or your money back.
