About Bångå hantverk

When we ourselves were looking for handles for the renovation of our farm on Gotland, we saw that there was a lack of something handmade and solid on the market. Much of what is available, even in building care, is so watered down and thin that it might as well be plastic. It is not something that will age with dignity and does not feel particularly durable.

The idea to make the handles ourselves came to us when we found an old bowl handle on the farm from the early 19th century. With this as a template, we have now produced a series of bowl handles, knobs and stirrup handles in the same style. Everything is cast by hand on Gotland and we use 100% locally recycled metal. So no metals that traveled around the world via various intermediaries before being recycled. Nothing manufactured under unclear working conditions.

When we choose to surround ourselves with things in everyday life, it is important to choose what has a long life. It is one of the most crucial things in reducing our footprint on the environment. Sustainability is also the most important thing for us when we design and manufacture our products. They should not only be made from locally recycled materials, but also be useful and meaningful for generations, and also become more beautiful every day they are used.
